Smart 'Technology Empowered Classrooms'
Doon public school has become the first school in India, to design smart classrooms where students are taught with the help of plasma screens and smart assessment systems (SAS) to enhance teaching and learning amicable for the teachers and students. The implementation of the SAS application in the schools education system allows us to assess the performance of the student on time to time basis. The evaluation process helps us in implementing skill enhancement programs for the students. The system is designed to answer multiple choice questions by the students who answer them by pressing an appropriate button on a powerful hand held remote. The result score is stored in the system and the application allows the teacher to generate report card for the students. The benefit of this system is that it allows evaluation of the students’ result which can be used to improve the performance of the student in the long run.
Smart Class programis a highly interactive computer based program where the lessons are taught in the virtual world. Teachers use digital resources from the vast database of Videos, Animation Clips, Graphs, Diagrams, Maps, Working models, Computer based simulations etc. The images and templates give a better understanding of the concepts and help the students to grasp them faster and for a longer time. Access to internet enables the teacher to connect to the information resources beyond the physical limitations of the classroom and take the students to the virtual world, thus phenomenally increasing the knowledge base available to teach the concepts for the practical use in teaching and learning.
